I contacted Mitch Farace at Mission City Flooring after getting a recommendation from DirectBuy. Mitch measured the floor plan, asked questions to get a complete understanding of the job, and then gave a quote to install my hardwood floors at a reasonable rate. Mission City's quote was 50% less than my GC's quote and about 1/3 of another independent installers.

Once we had a contract, Mitch visited the site to ensure all would be ready for the start date. Our GC used Mitch's advice to repair and level spots in the subfloor. When the installation began, Mission City worked to our pre-arranged schedule so that we could live in our house with minimum inconvenience. The jobsite was cleaned at the end of each day, and collected all recyclable waste materials.

Mitch, Since I wasn’t able to speak with you when the project was completed, I wanted to tell you how pleased we are with the job you did. The carpet pattern match at the seams looks fabulous, and our squeaking "security alarm" ramp is no longer an issue. Although initially frustrated with the shortage of materials, we appreciate that you were able to make it work (and the piecing together is hardly noticeable.

As with any home improvement project, we had lots of questions and problems from previous piece meal project to overcome. What stands out in my mind is that, due to Mitch's experience and general upbeat attitude, he is a "problem solver" He helped us to make decisions for our project that had previously seemed insurmountable. Mitch was a true professional helping us coordinated the work he needed to accomplish, with the schedule of all the other contractors who were going to be in and out of the same spaces. Mitch completed the work on time, on budget, and gave us reasonable breaks on charges that came up, mostly due to unforeseen circumstances with our remodel not under his control. We liked the outcome so much, we called him back to finish another room for us and help out with some additional baseboard work.

Mitch Farace and his Mission City crew are excellent flooring contractors. We rebuilt our dream home and Mitch bid the job. His labor price was very detailed, accurate, fair and competitive. He was very accommodating as I supplied all the materials via my DirectBuy membership. He had a solid bid, but it really was the thorough communications, his attention to detail and experience that won the job. He also picked up the padding and carpet from Direct Buy, delivered it and laid it in 3 bedrooms and throughout our entire basement. This required several seams with pattern matches, transitions and minor floor ramping to smooth the transitions. He was prompt, always on time, very professional and kept the job site clean. He coordinated his work with my GC and provided us both progress reports as well as his planned schedule. His attention to detail and effective communication resulted in NO surprises. He was one of the best contractors that worked in our home.
